Handmade Pocket Journal

Ingredients:

1) Spellbinders D-Lites Medallion 7
2) 2 x Sheets of grunge paper (the 6" x 12" size)
3) Paint of your choice (I have chosen Rusty Hinge Distress Paint)

Step 1) Take your medallion die and remove the centre circle and outer cutting edge die. You only need to cut the pattern into the grunge paper, not cut it out.
Position your die close to the top right edge and run it through your Grand Calibur, or other die cutting machine. Repeat for the bottom right hand corner.

Step 2) Now take your small circle die from the centre of the medallion and cut a hole on the centre edge on both sides of the grunge paper. Don't throw the removed circles away, glue them into the centre of your medallion patterns on the grunge paper and then paint your grunge paper on both sides in the colour of your choice (see images below)

Step 3) From your second sheet of grunge paper cut a complete medallion omitting the centre circle

Step 4) Embellish your cover by stamping, using embossing powder, painting, gilt flaking, or any other method of your choice. Take a length of cord and secure it to your medallion. This will be your journal closure
